Ingredients
1 pound(s) Italian Sausage |
1 large Onion, chopped |
3 clove(s) Garlic |
1 can(s) Crushed Tomatoes (28 oz.) |
1 quart Chicken Broth |
1 cup(s) Water |
1/2 cup(s) Dry red wine |
1 package(s) Cheese Tortellini (9 oz. or so) |
1 Bag of Spinach |
Instructions
1. Saute sausage, onion & garlic over medium heat until meat is slightly browned. 2. Dump the mix and all drippings into the slow cooker, add next four ingredients and cook on low for 2 hours. 3. Add the tortellini and spinach to the soup, bump heat to high for 1 additional hour. NOTE: I mixed 1/2 lb. of hot and 1/2 lb. mild Italian sausage, but spicy vs. mild is up to you.
Top with romano cheese and fresh basil as desired.
